About the position
The Cath Lab Nurse at Corewell Health's Dearborn Hospital plays a crucial role in providing professional nursing care within the Cardiac Cath Lab. This position involves working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialized care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures. The nurse will utilize critical thinking and communication skills to ensure quality patient care throughout the cath lab care continuum, including pre, intra, and post-procedure phases.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in the Cath Lab under the direction of the Nurse Leader.
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient-family centered care principles.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures.
- Ensure quality patient care throughout the cath lab care continuum (Pre/Intra/Post Lab).
- Demonstrate critical thinking and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required.
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months.
- Minimum of one (1) year acute care experience Required.
- 1 year of experience as an RN in the ICU Preferred.
- Critical Care, Cath Lab, or Procedural/OR experience Preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years.
- 1 year of relevant experience in a licensed health care role.
