About the position

The Charge Nurse is a licensed professional who contributes their services to providing unit specific management leadership in the areas of first-point-of-contact supervision, direct patient care, patient and staff education, emotional support and education of families and the community in accordance with the mission and philosophy, standards policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Charge Nurse collaborates with the physician and interprets the medical plan to staff members. They direct performance and supervise assigned staff members and assist the next level of management in directing care of the patient and support of the family.

Responsibilities

• Provide unit specific management leadership
• Supervise first-point-of-contact care
• Deliver direct patient care
• Educate patients and staff
• Provide emotional support to families and the community
• Collaborate with physicians and interpret medical plans to staff
• Direct performance and supervise assigned staff members
• Assist management in directing patient care and family support

Requirements

• One year experience as an RN-Charge Nurse
• Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification
• PALS certification within 1 year of employment

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
• Two years or more Critical Care experience
• Perioperative charge nurse or relief charge nurse experience
• One year current experience in a Perioperative environment
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)

• Highest starting rate for new hires is $67.13/hr based on applicable experience
