About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Covenant Health's Thompson Oncology Group in Morristown, TN, is a full-time role focused on providing professional nursing care within an assigned unit. The RN will coordinate care planning with other disciplines and is part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality oncology services, including chemotherapy and clinical trials. This position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs and requires active participation in unit activities and supervision of support staff.

Responsibilities

• Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family.
• Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family.
• Recommends interventions and evaluates plan of care.
• Resolves problems regarding moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
• Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities.
• Demonstrates willingness to precept employees/students as directed.
• Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.
• Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.

Requirements

• Valid Tennessee RN license.
• At least one (1) year of professional experience.
• Completion of required fire/security, infection control, and CPR inservices.
• Sixteen (16) contact hours of continuing education required annually (8 to enhance clinical expertise) or twelve (12) contact hours plus ACLS or approved specialty certifications.
