About the position

Join our team at Kleinert Kutz Hand Care! KKA is a world-renowned team of professionals continuing the legacy of the largest and oldest hand surgery medical practice in the United States. We lead the medical field in hand care, having completed the first successful hand transplants, toe to hand transfers, total distal radial joint replacement, and more. This position will function in a fast paced medical setting, specializing in one or more areas of medical care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills to foster and contribute to a collegial environment, with the primary focus of providing outstanding care to our patients and their families. Hours: Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays!

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
  • Prepare patient for physician visit: Obtain and document appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts)
  • Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit
  • Check vital signs
  • Give injections (including immunizations)
  • Medication administration, breathing treatments, Pulmonary Function Testing, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures
  • Distribute/educate regarding home spacers and nebulizers
  • Assist with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
  • Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture)
  • Performing laboratory tests
  • Documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting
  • Telephone and walk-in triage
  • Patient documentation and follow up
  • Check and maintain Crash Cart chart
  • Check and maintain Automated External Defibrillator on a rotational basis
  • Assist with preparing clinical schedule
  • Provide excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents
  • Work closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner
  • Assist in other areas of office as required

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • Current RN license in the State of Kentucky
  • BLS certification is required
