About the position

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator is a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position responsible for managing and coordinating patient care during assigned night shifts. This role involves overseeing effective patient placement, ensuring adequate staffing resources, and delivering safe and effective care. The Clinical Coordinator also serves as a liaison between hospital departments, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and provides leadership consistent with the hospital's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate patient care during assigned shifts.
  • Recognize and assist in solving patient care, professional, administrative, and supervisory problems.
  • Serve as a management/administrative liaison to hospital departments and services.
  • Oversee effective patient placement and assure adequate staffing resources.
  • Perform in a staff nurse role as needed.
  • Provide leadership consistent with hospital mission and core values.
  • Participate in performance reviews and quality improvement programs for staff.
  • Assist staff in developing problem-solving skills and fostering independent decision-making.
  • Promote a cohesive environment and interact effectively with the patient care team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Two years of acute care experience required.
  • Completion of Emergency Department Competencies and ability to staff independently in the ED.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation, ACLS, TNCC and either PALS or ENPC certification (or able to attain within 6 months of hire).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong clinical skills and critical thinking ability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leadership roles within nursing.
  • Familiarity with The Joint Commission and OSHA regulations.
