About the position

The RN Clinical Manager for Community Health at JPS Health Network is a leadership role responsible for overseeing clinical staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care. This position involves driving practice changes, supporting clinical staff, and implementing evidence-based practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The manager will also focus on quality and safety standards, professional development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and evaluates work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, and other employees; prepares and administers departmental performance evaluations.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises organizational policies and procedures for the facility or department.
  • Facilitates regular meetings and other forms of communication with Team Leads and other team members to assure awareness of operational and organization-wide issues.
  • Ensures the delivery of quality nursing care while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
  • Promotes the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment ensuring compliance with procedural rules and regulations.
  • Serves as an expert leader by identifying training, precepting, and mentoring needs and facilitates training for clinical staff and students.
  • Designs and implements interventions; assess and evaluates using data and metrics to improve overall health care delivery.
  • Leads project implementation, and monitors results and impact of evidence-based quality improvement actions that impact department goals and reduce costs throughout the health care system.
  • Performs routine audits of records and observes workflows to ensure policy compliance and regulatory readiness.
  • Works with clinic and facility leadership to maintain a constant state of inspection and survey readiness.
  • Provides oversight of clinical care support.
  • Anticipates customer needs and manages the provision of services to all customers, including patients, physicians, clinic leaders, and staff.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate services with other clinics and facilities as required; maintains communication with allied services and maintains community liaison as appropriate.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Promotes clinical education, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and implementation that is aimed at early identification, maintenance, and addressing worsening chronic conditions.
  • Encourages professional development for all clinical staff through governance, utilization of professional development plan, and staff and provider engagement.
  • Promotes quality health care services and decreases health care expenditures through management of a patient's primary and chronic health care as well as through care coordination and transitions using advanced nursing knowledge, abilities, and skill.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • 5 plus years of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
  • 2 plus years of work experience in process improvement, quality assurance, and/or patient safety and quality.
  • 2 plus years of progressive nursing leadership responsibility.
  • Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity of licensure between the State of Texas and another state.
  • Completion of unit-specific competency-based orientation program within 90 days.
  • Current JSP recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Certification in area of specialty.
