About the position

The Clinical Operations Coordinator II, RN at Cedars-Sinai plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and ensuring compliance with clinical practices and regulatory standards. This position combines clinical responsibilities with administrative tasks, focusing on staff education, quality improvement initiatives, and direct patient care. The coordinator works collaboratively with clinical leadership and operational staff to promote high-quality care and improve the patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care as needed within the scope of RN license.
  • Supports and coordinates flu vaccines to employees per protocol.
  • Conducts rounding and mentoring to clinical staff during office visits.
  • Manages employee assignments to informative modules in HealthStream and other online platforms.
  • Develops clinical skills training materials and presents educational material to employees.
  • Monitors staff compliance with professional licenses and certifications including CPR certifications.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of infection control standards and trains employees in these practices.
  • Performs pre-employment testing on new applicants per policy.
  • Provides support during regulatory audits for clinical and operations employees.
  • Assists in developing new quality initiatives and projects to improve patient care.
  • Develops and writes new policies and procedures for clinical practices.
  • Develops tracer tools for employees to supervise patient safety and adherence to policies.
  • Trains employees on how to scribe in a clinical environment.
  • Assists with abstraction projects and audits to ensure quality control.
  • Analyzes, tracks, and reports on data metrics as advised.
  • Initiates and completes nursing improvement or performance improvement projects.
  • Supervises other employees in the department, providing feedback and counseling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Nursing degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • RN California State License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • Four (4) years of working experience in an acute care or ambulatory nursing setting required.
  • One (1) year of demonstrated expertise in nursing education required.
