About the position

At UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, we are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Conscious Sedation department. This full-time position requires a commitment of 72 hours per pay period, with shifts primarily during the day. The RN will provide top-of-scope practice in direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to ensure exceptional outcomes. The role emphasizes a multidisciplinary team approach, prioritizing wellness and evidence-based practices to enhance patient care. The RN will be involved in perioperative care, including responsibilities in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Operating Room, adhering to AORN and ABPANC core curriculum and certification standards. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Prioritize wellness and evidence-based practices in patient care.
  • Precept new healthcare staff and contribute to their learning.
  • Ensure safety and quality at the point of care in perioperative settings.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 6 months RN experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification with a valid card before the start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in perioperative nursing or PACU settings.
  • Familiarity with AORN and ABPANC standards.
