About the position

As the RN Coordinator (Magnet Project) at Holy Cross Health, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the nursing practice environment and patient care outcomes. This full-time position requires collaboration with nurse leaders across various departments to develop, improve, and sustain structures and processes that foster an optimal practice environment. Your efforts will contribute to creating a highly engaged workforce and ensuring outstanding patient care outcomes. You will be responsible for the timely submission of required reports and information to the ANCC Magnet Program Office, acting as a subject matter expert to ensure that professional practice standards and outcomes necessary for ANCC Magnet designation are understood, met, and maintained. In this role, you will serve as a mentor and resource, advancing the practice of professional nursing while improving nurse-sensitive and patient outcomes through collaboration. You will oversee professional development initiatives, clinical advancement programs, peer review processes, preceptor and mentoring programs, and retention strategies. Promoting nursing excellence, recognition, and empowerment through professional governance and the development of nursing staff will be key aspects of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be tasked with composing and preparing complex correspondence and reports, gathering and interpreting information to develop comprehensive reports, maintaining departmental files, and providing exemplary customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as Magnet Program Coordinator and is accountable for timely submission of required reports and/or information to the ANCC Magnet Program Office.
  • Serves as a mentor, resource, and change strategist to advance the practice of professional nursing and improve nurse-sensitive and patient outcomes through collaboration.
  • Assumes oversight of professional development, clinical advancement program, peer review, preceptor, mentoring programs, and retention strategies.
  • Promotes nursing excellence, recognition, and empowerment through nursing professional governance and development of nurses.
  • Composes and prepares complex correspondence and reports, gathers and interprets information to develop complex reports, maintains departmental files, and provides exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field (Doctorate preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital setting (Magnet designated hospital preferred).
  • Previous experience/knowledge with Magnet or Pathways to Excellence Recognition Programs.
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Applications.
  • Highly organized, excellent communication skills and customer service, problem-solver, able to work independently/collaboratively and multi-task.
