About the position

Genie Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a correctional facility in Lincoln, IL. This full-time, travel nursing position offers a blended pay rate of $75 per hour and involves providing high-quality patient care in a correctional setting. The role requires excellent clinical skills, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and a commitment to supporting patients through their health journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate patient health status through comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and preferences.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
  • Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition, including performing triage when necessary.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in various settings, including geriatrics and dementia care.
  • Assist in surgical procedures as needed, including suturing and other OR responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and care plans in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Experience in primary care or assisted living environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with geriatrics, dementia care, or health coaching is a plus.
  • Proficiency in sonography or triage experience is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.
  • Previous hospital experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
