About the position
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) at UCI Health is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. This role involves utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while ensuring safety and compliance with nursing standards. The position requires effective communication and collaboration within a diverse healthcare team to provide optimal care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Meet all safe expectations of a nurse while providing care in the Emergency Department.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Transfer and lift patients as necessary, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and establish effective working relationships across the Health System.
Requirements
- Current CA RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
- Minimum of six months nursing experience
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training required within two months of hire
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods (approximately 75% of the workday)
- Ability to sit for approximately 25% of the workday
- Dexterity, coordination, and visual and auditory acuity to perform job responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
