The RN Emergency Department position at Allina Health System involves providing exceptional care to patients experiencing trauma, injury, or severe medical conditions requiring urgent treatment. The position is part-time, requiring a commitment to weekend rotations and a focus on maintaining high standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient and family needs.
  • Identify outcomes based on needs assessment and establish a plan of care.
  • Supervise progress and modify the plan of care as needed.
  • Maintain education and competencies to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Incorporate evidence-based nursing practices into care plans.
  • Establish realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes in collaboration with patients and families.
  • Coordinate, collaborate, and delegate care to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Fulfill all organizational requirements.
  • Act as Charge Nurse and Preceptor when designated.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Vocational degree in Nursing required.
  • Current RN License in MN or WI upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification from an approved provider.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Minimum one year RN ED experience or equivalent critical care experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • ED RN experience preferred.
