About the position

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team, utilizing a professional practice model. Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments of patients.
• Prioritize patient and family needs in care planning.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans based on patient assessments.
• Educate patients, families, and community members about healthcare choices.
• Document learning needs and patient responses regularly.
• Delegate tasks to healthcare team members and follow up on their completion.
• Utilize problem-solving strategies to address patient and family concerns.
• Recognize limitations and prioritize safety and effectiveness in patient care.
• Contribute to the development of peers and demonstrate community service commitment.

Requirements

• Current and valid RN license.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and nursing standards.
• Understanding of nursing laws, rules, and hospital procedures.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.
