About the position

The position involves providing direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families in a healthcare setting, specifically focusing on adult emergency care. The role requires a California Registered Nurse (RN) with clinical experience to deliver high-quality patient care, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure effective communication with patients and their families. The nurse will be responsible for managing multiple patient needs, utilizing critical thinking, and demonstrating clinical leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families.
• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to deliver individualized patient care.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Manage multiple patient needs and prioritize care delivery processes.
• Document patient care accurately and according to department guidelines.
• Act as a preceptor and teacher for other nurses and staff members.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, addressing barriers to communication.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of nursing school.
• 1 year of clinical experience (RNs with less than 12 months experience will complete new grad requirements).
• California Registered Nurse (RN) license - REQUIRED.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification - REQUIRED.
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - REQUIRED.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification - REQUIRED.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - REQUIRED.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years recent Adult ED RN experience.
