About the position
The Staff Nurse at Mark Twain Medical Center is responsible for delivering safe and therapeutic nursing care to patients of all ages. This role involves the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The Staff Nurse also assists in managing care provided by other nursing staff and takes on charge nurse duties as needed, ensuring comprehensive patient care and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Perform the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Manage patient care administered by other nursing staff.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for total patient care.
- Relieve charge nurse duties as required.
- Provide care for patients of all ages.
Requirements
- Current California RN license required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, & PALS certification.
- Six months or more of experience in acute care required.
- Ability to work in spite of frequent interruptions.
- Ability to read work products, computer screens, and printouts.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
- High level of concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a team, prioritize work, and make decisions regarding patient care.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
