About the position
The RN - Endoscopy Lab - PRN position at Jackson Purchase Medical Center involves providing direct patient care in the Endoscopy Lab. The role requires the application of the nursing process to ensure high-quality care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and assist with daily living activities, all while advocating for the patients' physical and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Document patient care given accurately and timely.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing is required.
- Current RN license in the state of Kentucky.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
