In the procedure room, the RN will assist with basic and advanced endoscopy procedures, administer moderate sedation, and learn to handle various gastrointestinal ailments.

Responsibilities

• Utilize assessment skills to prep patients for procedures.
• Plan patient care needed post-op, including spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs.
• Assist with basic endoscopy procedures such as Colonoscopy and EGD's.
• Assist with advanced therapeutic procedures to prevent surgery for mass removal and swallowing disorders.
• Administer moderate sedation.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN Acute Surgical/Endo experience required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification can be provided during orientation.
• Telemetry training can be acquired during orientation.
• On-call availability for 1 weekday night every other week and 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks.
