Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments of patients.
  • Prioritize patient and family needs and create care plans.
  • Implement and evaluate care plans, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members on healthcare choices.
  • Document learning needs and patient responses regularly.
  • Delegate tasks to healthcare team members and follow up on their completion.
  • Utilize problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety and effectiveness in patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of peers and show commitment to community service.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and valid nursing license.
  • BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
  • Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of health and disease management.
  • Respect for medical ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive social skills for diverse interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in forensic nursing or related fields.
