About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at HHHN is focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to the organization's core values of Quality, Appreciation, Creativity, and Sustainability. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of various ages and backgrounds. Requirements

  • Unrestricted current RN license to practice nursing in New York State.
  • A.A.S. degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one-year Registered Nurse clinical experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Network.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and electronic medical records.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for nursing standards, competencies, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with staff and other departments to improve quality of care and patient experience.
  • Utilize data to meet care coordination needs in conjunction with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Provide safe, ethical, patient- and family-centered, culturally congruent, and evidence-based care.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
  • Prepare patients for encounters by following established protocols.
  • Demonstrate competence in clinical skills.
  • Manage medications and vaccines properly.
  • Reconcile medication lists and prepare prescription renewals.
  • Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
  • Respond to patient phone calls using symptom-based policies and protocols.
  • Triage walk-in patients and assist with medical emergencies.
  • Initiate patient and family education plans.
  • Perform ordered point of care testing and proper documentation.
  • Assist with patient encounter flow and troubleshoot issues with supervisors.
  • Provide direction to LPNs and Medical Assistants.
  • Mentor new and incumbent staff based on skill set.
  • Attend meetings and serve on various organization committees.
  • Assist with compliance and staff development duties.
  • Complete assigned health center tasks.
  • Ensure operation of medical equipment by following instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions.
