About the position
The General Surgery Department at Mercy is seeking compassionate and flexible healthcare workers to join their team. This mid-senior level nursing position involves providing post-operative care in a diverse 30-bed unit that caters to a variety of surgical needs, including urology, nephrology, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and plastic surgery. Responsibilities
- Provide post-operative care for patients in the General Surgery Department.
- Assist in the management of various drains, dressings, and catheters.
- Collaborate with a team to deliver excellent patient care.
- Develop basic nursing techniques and skills in a diverse surgical environment.
Requirements
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Possess a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure.
- Maintain all state board of nursing requirements.
- Hold Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a surgical or medical-surgical unit.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
