Responsibilities

• Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to enhance patient care and quality of life.
• Establishes effective relationships and advocates for patients and their families.
• Develops and implements individualized care plans using the nursing process.
• Assesses and manages patient needs considering various dimensions of health.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the impact of illness on patients' overall status.
• Coordinates care with patients, families, and inter-professional teams.
• Participates in collaborative decision-making with patients and families.
• Educates patients and families on health promotion and comfort measures.
• Mentors and serves as a role model for nursing colleagues and students.
• Applies evidence-based practices in nursing care delivery.
• Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety in the work environment.
• Performs point of care testing as needed.
• Completes other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state of work location.
