About the position

Join BrightStar Care as a Home Health Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) in the Scottsdale area, where you will provide compassionate, one-on-one care to patients in their homes. This role focuses on infusion therapy and wound care, allowing you to make a significant impact on patients' lives through personalized care and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care in the patient's home.
  • Implement treatment and plan of care using sound judgment and critical thinking.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the care plan and nursing processes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of wounds, including appearance, size, depth, and characteristics.
  • Identify factors contributing to delayed wound healing and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Cleanse and dress wounds as prescribed, using aseptic techniques.
  • Administer intravenous (IV) medications, fluids, and other therapies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Ensure the proper selection, insertion, and maintenance of vascular access devices.
  • Monitor patients during infusion therapy for adverse reactions and educate patients and caregivers on procedures and self-care measures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in electronic medical records.

Requirements

  • An unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where care is provided.
  • Minimum of (1) year nursing experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.).
  • Valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance, BLS CPR card, and an up-to-date TB skin test or Chest X-Ray.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull.
  • Must be able to lift or transfer up to 50 pounds.
