About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Neuro ICU at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus involves providing exceptional nursing care to complex neurological patients. This role is integral to the Comprehensive Stroke Center, focusing on a diverse patient population with conditions such as strokes, brain tumors, and spinal injuries. The RN will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Neuro ICU.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions effectively.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per physician orders.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families about care and recovery.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, including military RN experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, required within the first year of employment.
