Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments and interventions for patients.
• Educate patients and family members on the nature and status of the patient's condition, diet, medication side effects, and compliance importance.
• Ensure the safety of patients.
• Coordinate referrals to other services within and outside the unit.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Function as a preceptor in accordance with UMMC guidelines.
• Report patient issues or concerns to the supervisor as appropriate.
• Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee to improve patient care or work area.
• Demonstrate core standards of exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• Valid RN license required.
