About the position

The position involves providing competent nursing practice to deliver safe and effective patient and family-centered care. The role requires critical thinking, planning, and organization to manage both routine and unexpected clinical situations autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a competent level of understanding and application of the AC Model of Patient and Family-Centered care.
  • Consistently provides safe and effective nursing care at a competent level in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Competently assesses patients and provides developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
  • Analyzes information to identify problems and outcomes, and develops and maintains the plan of care in collaboration with the patient and interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides individualized patient and family education and documents all education activities.
  • Advances evidence-based nursing practice using best available evidence and patient preferences.
  • Evaluates own performance and provides input for peer evaluations.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary shared decision-making activities.
  • Actively participates in the improvement of patient care and nursing practice.
  • Accountable for the quality of patient care and advocates for patients and families.
  • Participates in councils, committees, and community activities promoting health and wellness.
  • Mentors, coaches, and teaches healthcare professionals and students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
  • RN License (AR or Compact State) from the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
  • 1 year of nursing experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification specific to patient population.
