About the position

Yeadon Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infection Control Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and safety of our residents by implementing and overseeing infection control protocols within our long-term care facility. The Infection Control Nurse will work primarily during the day shift, from Monday to Friday, and will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing all in-service educational programs in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. In this position, you will provide essential clinical and educational support to nursing staff, focusing on quality improvement and identifying areas where further education is needed. You will monitor staff compliance with required education and track completion rates, ensuring that all staff members are well-informed and equipped to maintain high standards of care. Additionally, you will maintain surveillance and tracking of infections and exposures within the facility, developing and implementing the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) to ensure the quality of patient care related to the investigation, control, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases. As an Infection Control Nurse, you will also perform other job-related duties as required, contributing to a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment. Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Provide nursing staff with clinical and educational support and guidance.
  • Focus on Quality Improvement and identify areas of educational needs.
  • Monitor staff completion of required education and track compliance rates.
  • Maintain surveillance and tracking of infections and exposures in the facility.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) to ensure quality patient care related to infection control and prevention.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid LPN or RN license in the state of PA.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in long-term care or a related setting.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
