About the position

The RN - Informatics Coordinator at McBride Orthopedic Hospital is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining information handling technologies that support nursing practices. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including Nursing, IT, and CPSI, to ensure effective data collection and reporting. The coordinator will prepare management reports, assist in policy development, and supervise special project employees while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to the hospital's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, modify, implement, evaluate, or maintain information handling technologies for patient data collection.
  • Coordinate with the Nursing Department and other hospital departments, including IT and CPSI.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for management.
  • Assist in developing departmental practices and policies.
  • Supervise special project employees and provide guidance on assignments.
  • Solve unusual problems in collaboration with supervision and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling patient records.

Requirements

  • Current unencumbered RN license in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of sophisticated documentation techniques.
  • Extensive experience with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Ability to process technical information and adapt processes to organizational needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • IT education or experience is a plus.
  • Background and exposure to different departments in both hospital and clinic environments.
