About the position

The position involves providing nursing care in an oncology clinic, focusing on chemotherapy administration, patient education, and support. The role requires collaboration with physicians and oversight of clinical medical assistants, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care for patients with oncology and hematology conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemotherapy administration and physician assistance.
  • Gather information and collect samples from patients.
  • Educate patients about their treatment and care.
  • Follow up with patients regarding their treatment progress.
  • Maintain supplies and ensure proper inventory management.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to Clinical Medical Assistants (CMAs) as appropriate.
  • Assist with patient flow in a busy oncology clinic.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, vital signs, and responses.

Requirements

  • Licensed RN in the State of North Carolina required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • OCN certification required within 3 years of hire.
  • Chemotherapy and Biotherapy experience preferred.
