Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation team. This position is critical in providing direct patient care to individuals in a rehabilitation setting, ensuring that all nursing processes are adhered to in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing various interventions as part of the patient's plan of care, which includes medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Additionally, the nurse will document all patient care provided and monitor, record, and communicate the patient's condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families. In this role, the Registered Nurse will assist patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and elimination. Collaboration across disciplines is essential to coordinate patient care effectively, including managing patient transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs. The nurse will also evaluate the learning needs of patients and their families, providing education tailored to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocacy for the physical and emotional well-being of patients is a key component of this role. The Registered Nurse will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned, which may include taking on responsibilities typically held by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Medical Assistants (MA), or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Participation in staff meetings, in-service training, projects, and committees is also required. Adherence to the policies and procedures of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is mandatory, and the nurse must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the dress code. This position may require working scheduled shifts, including overtime, and accepting call schedules as directed. It is important to note that occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees in this role.
