About the position

The Inpatient Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) at AdventHealth South Overland Park is responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with difficult or chronic wounds. This role involves coordinating the efforts of a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN will administer, supervise, and coordinate the nursing process in the provision of care, adhering to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and established policies and protocols. The RN will also be accountable for maintaining strict infection control standards and providing education to patients and their families regarding wound care management. This position is PRN, meaning shifts are variable and can be picked up as needed, allowing for flexibility in scheduling. The RN will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including home health nurses and insurance case managers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients. The role emphasizes the importance of effective communication, documentation, and participation in quality improvement initiatives within the department. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for individuals with difficult or chronic wounds.
• Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for patient care.
• Administer, supervise, and coordinate the nursing process in the provision of care.
• Maintain and improve patient outcomes through effective nursing practices.
• Document detailed wound assessments and maintain accurate records.
• Educate patients and their families on wound care management and treatment plans.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards in practice.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with external partners involved in patient care.
• Lead a care team as a clinic case manager, providing clear instructions and delegating tasks.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School in Nursing.
• Kansas Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Wound Care Certificate (WCC, WOCN, OMS, or WCN) required.
• No previous experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of position-related experience preferred.
