About the position

The Registered Nurse - Wound Care at AdventHealth South Overland Park is responsible for providing direct patient care and coordinating the multidisciplinary treatment team for patients with difficult or chronic wounds. This role emphasizes maintaining high standards of patient care, adhering to regulatory standards, and improving patient outcomes through effective communication and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for individuals with difficult or chronic wounds.
• Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Administer, supervise, and coordinate the nursing process in the provision of care.
• Maintain strict infection control standards in practice and guide non-RN associates.
• Plan, implement, and document education for patients regarding wound care.
• Utilize effective communication with external partners involved in patient care.
• Manage assigned clinics to ensure efficient care and minimize wait times.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School in Nursing.
• Kansas Registered Nurse License.
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Wound Care Certificate (WCC, WOCN, OMS, or WCN).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• 1 to 2 years of position-related experience.
