About the position

The Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) position in Interventional Radiology at MIPS involves providing exceptional patient care in a surgical model practice. The role requires conducting patient assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and comfort during outpatient procedures. The RN will work two 12-hour shifts per week, focusing on both clinic and hospital-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-nursing calls to assess patient readiness and provide pre-op instructions.
  • Perform patient assessments before and after procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Administer and manage medications, including medication reconciliation and double checks.
  • Utilize i-STAT devices and other diagnostic tools to monitor patient conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for office-based labs.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide post-op care, including pain management and patient education.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the specific needs of patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in Interventional Radiology, Med-Surg, ER, ICU, or PACU.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for labs and office-based practices.
  • Experience with i-STAT devices and medication management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to putting patients' needs first and delivering compassionate care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in Interventional Radiology.
  • Experience with post-op pain management and care coordination.
