About the position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Temple is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor and Delivery department. This role involves overseeing patient care, conducting clinical assessments, creating and implementing care plans, and educating patients and families. The position is critical in a busy maternity services department that averages around 250 births a month, providing opportunities for career growth and involvement in improvement projects and committees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments of patients.
• Prioritize patient and family needs and create care plans.
• Implement and evaluate care plans, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and community members on healthcare choices.
• Assess and document learning needs regularly.
• Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community to create effective care plans.
• Utilize problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff.
• Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
• Contribute to the development of peers and show commitment to community service.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nurse Program.
• Current and valid RN license.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
• 1 year of RN experience in a Labor and Delivery unit.
