About the position

QS Nurses is seeking a dedicated and skilled travel nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing position in Winchester, Massachusetts. This role is designed for registered nurses (RNs) who are passionate about providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process. The position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to explore new locations while gaining valuable experience in various healthcare settings. The Labor and Delivery RN will be responsible for monitoring the health and progress of patients during labor, assisting with deliveries, and providing post-delivery care to both mothers and infants. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care. The position is expected to start on September 16, 2024, and will last for a duration of 12 weeks, with a commitment of 36 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts during the day. As a travel nurse, you will also benefit from a competitive pay package, which is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week. The pay package includes a tax-free stipend, the amount of which will be determined upon confirmation. Responsibilities

  • Monitor the health and progress of patients during labor and delivery.
  • Assist with deliveries and provide immediate post-delivery care to mothers and infants.

  • Educate patients and their families about the labor and delivery process and post-delivery care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of labor and delivery procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or similar specialty certification.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
