About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position at the Good Samaritan Society involves providing individualized nursing care to residents in a not-for-profit organization dedicated to quality care for seniors. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborating with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. This role includes responsibilities such as resident education, care coordination, and serving as a charge nurse when necessary, all while adhering to nursing standards and ethics.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
- Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency in nursing expertise and practice within the full scope of nursing knowledge.
- Care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, and provide resident education.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel and provide support to ensure safe care delivery.
Requirements
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
- Possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
