About the position
The RN/LPN position in Family Medicine at Christie Clinic in Rantoul involves providing professional nursing care to clinic patients. The role requires adherence to established nursing standards and practices, with responsibilities spanning from medication administration to patient education. The position is full-time, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
- Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
- Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
- Arrange for patient testing and admission.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
- Respond to triage calls using nursing assessment to ensure patients with emergency situations are prioritized, documenting appropriately.
- Attend and participate in departmental huddles.
- Obtain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.
- Administer injections.
- Send prescription refills.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, etc.
- Administer IV therapy and push IV medications.
- Perform related work as required.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
- Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, an Illinois RN or LPN license is required.
- Professional nursing experience is preferred.
