About the position
The RN Manager for Emergency Services at Providence St. Mary Medical Center is responsible for assisting the Director of Emergency Services in planning, implementing, and monitoring patient care services within the Emergency Department. This role includes providing clinical oversight, staff education, quality improvement, and operational support to ensure high-quality patient care and effective departmental functioning.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Emergency Services with planning and implementation of patient care services.
- Provide clinical oversight and support for assigned areas, including quality improvement and assurance monitoring.
- Conduct staff education and competency monitoring.
- Supervise staff orientation as developed by the Director.
- Follow up with Datix for adverse event monitoring.
- Anticipate daily staffing needs and edit payroll accordingly.
- Perform customer service rounds and other operational activities as delegated.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or in process to be completed within 3 years of hire.
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- 3 years of experience in emergency, trauma, or critical care nursing.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Business.
- ACLS and PALS certifications (must be AHA accredited) upon hire.
- TNCC Instructor status upon hire or ability to achieve it.
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory or charge nurse capacity.
