About the position

The RN Manager - Transplant position at OU Health involves overseeing the Transplant Clinic, managing nursing staff, and ensuring high-quality patient care in a team-oriented environment. The role includes responsibilities such as personnel supervision, scheduling, policy adherence, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises 5 or more nurses and coordinates nursing services activities.
  • Plans and implements nursing personnel schedules.
  • Works as a Staff Registered Nurse when needed.
  • Ensures adherence to nursing policies and physicians' orders.
  • Attends meetings and conducts monthly Nurse staff meetings.
  • Develops professional services for nursing care and identifies service gaps.
  • Acts as a liaison and advocate for patient services.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required; Master's level education preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience required.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Managerial skills for organizing, developing, and supervising a department and staff.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and motivate others.
  • Proven ability to manage a team of professionals and lead a departmental function.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to balance organizational decisions with business considerations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and excellent communication skills.
