About the position

The RN Manager at Pine Valley Community Village is responsible for overseeing patient care and managing nursing staff in a healthcare setting. This role involves direct patient care, administrative duties, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality care and compliance with health standards. The RN Manager will also engage in community health improvement initiatives and provide training to nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Provide health care, first aid, immunizations, or assistance in convalescence or rehabilitation.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
  • Instruct individuals, families, or groups on health education and disease prevention.
  • Modify patient treatment plans based on responses and conditions.
  • Conduct specified laboratory tests.
  • Observe nurses and visit patients to ensure proper nursing care.
  • Assess the needs of individuals, families, or communities for health or safety problems.
  • Plan or implement programs to improve community health.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
  • Perform administrative or managerial functions for the unit.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe or recommend drugs and treatments.
  • Direct or coordinate infection control programs.
  • Prepare rooms, instruments, and ensure supply stock is maintained.
  • Administer anesthetics as needed.
  • Provide training or instruction to auxiliary personnel or students.
  • Refer patients to specialized health resources or community agencies.
  • Perform physical examinations and make tentative diagnoses.
  • Consult with institutions regarding nursing practice issues.
  • Inform physician of patient’s condition during anesthesia.
  • Engage in research activities related to nursing.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse licensure with geriatric nursing experience.
  • Successful completion of an eight-hour IV therapy course with a minimum score of 78%.
  • Maintains above average performance evaluations and supervisor's recommendation.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the facility's mission and goals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in coordinating specialized units and providing clinical direction to nursing staff.
  • Participation in ongoing staff development and regular meetings with Social Services.
