About the position

San Ramon Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Maternity Services department, specifically for full-time night shifts. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality, individualized patient care to mothers and newborns, utilizing the nursing process to ensure the best outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating care, while also being an advocate for patients and their families. The position requires a commitment to excellence in nursing practice, with a focus on patient-centered care and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. As a nurse in our Maternity Services, you will be expected to handle high-risk labor and delivery situations, including OB triage and both vaginal and C-section deliveries. The role also involves being on-call, with the requirement to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called. Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and provide high-quality individualized patient care using the nursing process.
  • Handle high-risk labor and delivery situations, including OB triage and both vaginal and C-section deliveries.
  • Be on-call and arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for mothers and newborns.
  • Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met during their hospital stay.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS certification (AHA certified)
  • Current NRP certification
  • Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in high-risk Labor & Delivery within the last three (3) years
  • Experience in OB triage and circulating vaginal & C-section deliveries
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required within 1 year of hire
  • AWHONN progressive Fetal Monitoring classes recommended every 2 years

Nice-to-haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Experience in scrubbing C-sections and postpartum/well baby care
