About the position
The position involves utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients. The role includes evaluating the effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers, coordinating patient care with various departments, and ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care.
- Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.

- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support).
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification).
