About the position

Oneida Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Surgical Unit, working day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM. This role involves coordinating patient care, performing nursing services that require specialized judgment and skills, and supervising LPNs and support nursing staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively while providing compassionate care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care and perform nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills.
• Supervise LPNs and related support nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure a clean and healthy environment for staff and patients according to quality standards.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exhibit a customer service attitude when interacting with patients and families.
• Organize supplies and equipment efficiently.
• Remain calm and professional in crisis and emergent situations.
• Utilize computer skills for electronic records management.

Requirements

• Current New York RN License
• BLS Certification
• Associate's degree in Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• 3 years of nursing experience (Preferred)
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in computer skills for electronic records management.
