About the position

The RN Med Surg Full Time Days position at Abrazo Health Network involves providing professional nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinating care planning with other disciplines, and rendering individualized, age-specific bedside nursing care based on patient needs. The role includes supervising other healthcare team members, evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, and participating in hourly rounding. The position requires effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing excellent customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit.
• Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
• Renders individualized, age-specific, and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs.
• Acts as a supervisor by assessing, planning, delegating, and utilizing independent judgment in directing other healthcare employees for the provision of patient care.
• Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals.
• Participates in hourly rounding.
• Observes safety guidelines and safe work practices.
• May be asked to be in charge for a shift(s).
• Supervises other members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.
• CPR Certification.
• ACLS Certification as applicable by Facility/Department.
• Minimum of two years of current Level III NICU experience including neonatal ventilator.
• Strongly preferred experience in CVICU or ICU or a minimum of 2 years in Cardiac Stepdown.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Certification in specialty area of practice preferred.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred but will consider new graduates.
