Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Detox team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide direct patient care in a Joint Commission accredited hospital that serves the south-central Tennessee region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing medical detoxification, ensuring adherence to the nursing process and applicable standards of practice. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments, all while maintaining accurate documentation of patient care provided. As a Registered Nurse, you will monitor and communicate patient conditions effectively to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families. You will assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility, while advocating for their physical and emotional well-being. Collaboration across disciplines is essential to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, and referrals, as well as addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs. Additionally, you will evaluate the learning needs of patients and their families, providing education tailored to their age, culture, and specific circumstances. The position requires participation in staff meetings, in-service training, and various projects and committees as assigned. You will be expected to adhere to the policies and procedures of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, maintain a professional appearance, and comply with the dress code standards. The role may also require performing duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) as needed. This position may involve working scheduled shifts, including overtime, and accepting on-call duties as directed. Please note that occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present in this role, and compliance with the STRHS Standard of Behavior is mandatory.
