About the position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide direct patient care in a Joint Commission accredited hospital that serves the south-central Tennessee region. The hospital is located in Winchester, a charming small town that provides a blend of rural living with easy access to larger cities like Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville. Winchester is known for its strong economy, excellent schools, and outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, hiking, and golfing at the renowned Bear Trace at Tims Ford. The role of the Registered Nurse involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality care to patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being while adhering to the established standards of practice. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for implementing the plan of care, which includes administering medications, collecting specimens, and performing clinical treatments. You will document all patient care activities and monitor patient conditions, communicating effectively with the care team, physicians, patients, and their families. The role also requires assisting patients with daily living activities, evaluating their learning needs, and providing education tailored to their specific circumstances. Collaboration across disciplines is essential to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, and addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs. You will also be expected to participate in staff meetings and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System. This position may require you to perform duties typically assigned to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Medical Assistants (MA), or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) on occasion. The Registered Nurse will work scheduled shifts, including overtime as necessary, and must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the dress code.
