About the position

The RN, Mobile Crisis position at UMass Memorial Health Care involves providing nursing care to clients in a mobile crisis setting. The role requires the utilization of the nursing process for client management from admission to discharge, ensuring quality care through collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The RN will also be responsible for client assessments, care planning, medication administration, and staff supervision, while maintaining professional standards and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of client's care from Admission to Discharge.
  • Performs client assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
  • Develops and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team on the individual plan of care including discharge planning.
  • Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the clinical setting.
  • Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with the job description and competency level.
  • Documents client care according to standard procedure.
  • Develops, implements/coordinates and documents education provided to client/family/significant other.
  • Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other healthcare providers from the interdisciplinary team.
  • Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies, and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth and assists in education and development of staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
  • Maintains the highest standards of ethics and demonstrates professional attitude and conduct.

Requirements

  • Valid and current RN license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Satisfactory CORI background check and, if applicable, DCF/CPS background check.
  • BLS certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
  • Commitment to providing safe and effective nursing care.

Nice-to-haves

  • One (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) oral and written communication skills.
