About the position

St Bernardine Medical Center is a 342-bed acute care nonprofit hospital located in San Bernardino, California, founded in 1931 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. The hospital offers a full complement of services including the Inland Empire Heart and Vascular Institute, an award-winning orthopedics program, surgical weight loss, and is an official Neurovascular Stroke Center as designated by ICEMA. The hospital shares a legacy of humankindness with Dignity Health, one of the nation's five largest health care systems. This job opening is for the RN New Grad Program, which begins on March 3rd, 2025, and includes various units such as Telemetry, Medical Surgical Acute, Orthopedics, and Oncology. The department and shift will be decided upon successful completion of the panel interview. The application period is open from December 31st, 12:00 AM through January 7th, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Applicants must submit a current resume, a cover letter, and indicate their shift and department preference in their application. Notifications for interviews will start on January 5th, 2025. The program consists of a clinical orientation and a 12-month transition-to-practice, requiring full-time (40-hour) employment during this period.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the RN New Grad Program starting March 3rd, 2025.
  • Complete a clinical orientation and a 12-month transition-to-practice program.
  • Work in designated units such as Telemetry, Medical Surgical Acute, Orthopedics, and Oncology after successful completion of the interview process.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing required within the past 12 months from the start date of the program (3/2024 or after).
  • 0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience.
  • An active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state they will be practicing (interim permits cannot be accepted) upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on populations served.
