The Graduate Nurse in the LANA Program at Corewell Health plays a crucial role in delivering patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position is designed for new nursing graduates who will engage in patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions while collaborating with a mentoring RN. The role emphasizes the importance of obtaining licensure within 60 days and transitioning into a full Registered Nurse role.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a designated group of patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides professional nursing care to all patients and their families, maintaining the standard of care.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, analyze, and evaluate the clinical picture of the patient.
• Implements delegated interdependent and independent direct care activities based on clinical training and assessment findings.
• Evaluates care given using the Plan of Care and revises problems as needed.
• Identifies patient learning needs and establishes education goals with the patient/family.
• Establishes priorities in patient care assignments based on essential needs and available resources.
• Documents care delivered using the nursing process and critical thinking skills.
• Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required within 60 days
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
