About the position

The Transition to Practice Orientation Program at Milford Regional Medical Center is designed for Newly Licensed Nurses (NLNs) to support their entry into the nursing profession. This program provides a structured environment for professional growth and development, guided by nursing education and leadership teams. NLNs will engage in specialized courses and receive mentorship to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to 32-40 hours per week for the first four weeks of orientation.
  • Complete specialized courses in dysrhythmia interpretation, acute care nursing, and advanced life support (ACLS), pediatric life support (PALS), and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) as appropriate to the specialty.
  • Participate in Clinical Connections with a Staff Education advisor for periodic check-ins in clinical practice.
  • Attend Professional Development Days for networking, emotional support, and team building.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current or eligible to obtain RN Licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Current CPR skills required.
  • For ICU positions, completion of an ICU Senior Practicum and previous work experience as a Nursing Assistant/SNA/CNA is required.

Benefits

  • Hospital differentials of $3.50 hourly for evenings, $4.75 hourly for nights, and $2.75 hourly for weekends.
