About the position

The RN-New Grad Trainee position at Samaritan Health Services is designed for newly graduated Registered Nurses to transition into the nursing profession. This role provides guided orientation to help integrate medical knowledge and sharpen technical skills while delivering safe, age-appropriate patient care in the Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit. The position emphasizes the importance of adapting to diverse patient needs and working effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate patient care.
• Participate in guided orientation to integrate medical knowledge and sharpen technical skills.
• Monitor and assess patients experiencing complex and high-risk conditions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
• Adapt care strategies to meet the diverse needs of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Requirements

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification required.
• Must have less than one year of acute care experience to participate in the New Grad program.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
• TNCC and PALS certifications required within one year of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous ICU experience preferred.
